just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to which is a better program: NYEE or UMDNJ...
NYEE has a better name but also has a busy saturday clinic
UMDNJ has great surgery and faculty but is in Newark

any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Both are excellent programs. If I had a choice I would pick UMDNJ. It's the only program in New Jersey so surgical volume isn't a factor. In addition over the last several years, UMDNJ's reputation has risen greatly because of the addition of several well-known names to its faculty. Plus the environment also seemed more laid-back. NYEE has a great name and good volume but it's residents don't seem to be quite as happy. It's a very busy program with Saturday clinic and all, and the environment can be stressful at times. Go with what fits your personality better. If you're a type-A personality you might like NYEE more. But if you're more laid back, UMDNJ is probably a better fit.
