I thought I'd try out this "vs" thing. Does anyone have any thoughts on how these residencies compare (U Maryland and Tufts)? I realize there are a lot of things that factor into choosing a residency program, but any of your opinions would be appreciated!

I can only give you my impressions of U Maryland. This is what I wrote down about the program.

-2 VAs yield good sx #
-Wilmington VA is 40min away.
-no fellows
-q5d home call
-opportunity for caribbean ophtho mission integrated into program
-poor pediatric exposure ("weakest part of the program")
-Baltimore is second in crime rate for big cities
-residents seemed to be tired compared to other interviews
-lots of trauma

The program ended up low on my rank list, but I felt it could be a good program for others. As I have an interest in peds and no interest in trauma, this program wouldn't be the right fit for me.

Plus, Boston rocks the dog house compared to Baltimore. Hope that helps.

I had my notes from Tufts but couldn't find the Maryland ones, so that was really helpful! You are absolutely right about Boston rocking the dog house.
I should have specified that I'm interested in plastics. If anyone else has thoughts, that would be great.
