nylee 01-12-2006, 01:06 PM heart palpitations? Am I the only one pulling my hair out and feeling extremely restless this week-before-the-match?
Anyone have suggestions to do stuff that will keep me distracted this week? :scared:
I'm going crazyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!
kassie 01-12-2006, 01:23 PM Yes!
My husband is doing night float right now so I have no one to talk to that won't tell me to shut up. Luckily I'm doing Neuro, where you have to pay attention to understand anything. I'm doing call this weekend to keep myself busy.
As for additional distractions...I go running for an hour or 2 when I start freaking out (I run marathons so this isn't totally insane). Oh, and my house is SPOTLESS. I am going to open my own cleaning business if I don't match.
If all else fails there's always a nice bottle of wine.
Good Luck to all! :luck:

Great suggestions, Iris...
I'm trying to "study" for step 2 CK and needless to say, it's not going well! I was even planning on taking the test on the 17th--two days before the match, but I figured that I would be way to fidgetty to sit through an 8-hour test!
good luck!
:luck:
Jokestr 01-12-2006, 07:43 PM I'm actually getting anxious about WHERE I will match.....I don't even want to think about NOT matching, but assuming I do match it's crazy to think about where I will be doing my ophtho training!!! Every time I think about it I get freaked out. That's why I'm putting it in the hands of god/allah/buddha/the dalai lama or anyone else that has devine power! Good luck and good prayers to all.
monkey7247 01-12-2006, 08:13 PM I've chewed my nails, eaten every sweet in sight, and cleaned damn near everything in my house. This countdown is killing me! First I worry about where I'll match, then I worry IF I'll match. I can't imagine how my guts will be come match day. I think my wife is ready to move out or send me to Alaska until match. :horns:
EDIT: Argh, I just clicked on my signature link
babyblue_39 01-12-2006, 08:44 PM I've been cool as a cucumber for the past 2 weeks after I had determined my rank order and submitted the list... but then since yesterday (now that we really can't do ANYTHING different) I've become more nervous. Last night, I had a semi-nightmare that involved a teacher (somehow I was back in high school, ergo nightmare) who was faxed the rank list results but refused to tell me where I matched until Match Day. I was pleading so HARD!!
Frumps 01-12-2006, 08:58 PM Is any one else drinking more than usual :)

YES. THE LIBATIONS ARE RUNNING.
intoxicatedtiger 01-13-2006, 01:29 AM Thank goodness I've been visiting friends in California for the past 10 days. I've been so busy/drunk/hungover that I've actually forgotten about the match. Right now for me, the match still feels like it's over a month away. Oh well, if I match, I match. If not, I don't. Not the end of the world.
bghs11 01-13-2006, 08:26 PM I've actually developed a left upper eyelid spasm. No joke. But at least it's a somewhat eye-related condition and not priapism or gynecomastia, so I'm taking it as a good sign! Good luck to all!
Eleazar82 01-14-2006, 10:39 AM One word: Buspirone.

Fortune shines on the twitching eye...
I had that problem while studying for step 1. Good news is the best cure. :luck:

demspawn 01-18-2006, 02:16 PM Yup...
Nothing till today but I can definetely feel it now.
I also had eye-twitching but the right eye. \
And that has been ongoing since 2 months.
PS. Sowhat happens tomorrow? DO we definetely get a call from the PD if we match? No call means not matched? DO we get an e-mail from SFMatch saying if we matched? I know we get a "sorry you did not match" e-mail if we don't.
D.
PurpleMD 01-18-2006, 08:47 PM I would like to say good luck to all of you who are awaiting your match! Can not wait to hear the good news on what places you all matched in! :)

I think it depends on your school. My dean told us that he'd call us first thing in the morning, as soon as he gets in (yay him!). But I can imagine some deans waiting until noon, or letting the programs that matched you call first.
I would guess if you did not match, your dean should call you ASAP.
Bottom line, there is no set protocol.
GOOD LUCK! :luck:
abu barney 01-19-2006, 04:42 AM Is it true that we get an e-mail from SFmatch if we don't match?
So far I haven't received it, if that means anything...
Akbar 01-19-2006, 05:55 AM the note from SF match, if sent, will be sent in the afternoon....relax!

bghs11 01-19-2006, 09:13 AM Found out from Student Affairs office that did not match. Have not received any notification from SFMatch though.
