I did pretty bad in the Step 1, got 190, havent done step 2 yet, trying to learn relaxation techniques (did have performance anxiety in the first step). I did some rotations and got good LOC. I would like to pick an IM programm in NY/Boston/Philadelphia but I dont have any idea, which programms are really "not out of my reach" (b/c of my score and being FMG). Is it really impossible to get into a University Programm with that score? Can somebody give me any advice about any place where I could check something?

I would find an advisor at your school and ask them to help you choose programs. My advisor has been very helpful, and actually predicted which interviews I would receive quite accurately after looking at my application for just five minutes.

You'll have no problems getting interviews at downstate and umdnj. I know many IMGs who got interviews there with lower scores.
