hi, all.....Some of you guys and myself are on alternate list, I don't know how what will turn out...I called school that I have placed on waitlist (midwestern) and they said that they can't give any more infor.....I started to pull out my Pcat's material again, to study for June Pcat, just in case.... :scared: Just hope that I won't have apply for Pharm school again!!
Make sure to send them a "letter of intent" and updated transcripts/resume/PCAT scores to let them know that you are serious about (and still interested in) their program.
Most important of all, keep your head up! It's definitely a blow to the ego to get waitlisted, but be optimistic. At least they didn't reject you.

I think since they didn't give you a position on the waitlist, perhaps they will consider the candidate that stands out the most among the waitlist people. I would send them anything that helps to show them I am serious about their school. Send an updated resume and an essay with additional info about yourself. Also it's your chance to explain some grades, or anything that will distinguish you from the rest of the applicants - eg. if you are a minority, tell them the hardships you had to overcome. I've been placed on the waitlist last year in another school and they actually told me my position (far end) and there was not much I could do but wait because it was an objective criteria. But I believe in this case, they are giving you another chance to get to know you since they don't have candidate rankings.
Don't lose hope yet, UIC will start admitting people, there might be a chance that some accepted students will go for their program. Not just UIC, but other schools as well.
Hey, it's not over until August, so keep your head up and do what you can do to improve your chances, okay? Best of luck! :luck:

And, remember that there will end up being quite a bit of "churn" when the folks who have been admitted more than one place make their final choice. For example, if you look at the Mercer acceptances on just this board, there are already several folks who were accepted there but who are going elsewhere. They accept very early, so I would expect the same to happen at a lot of the other schools in a few months.
