I attended the 1/21 interview, and I don't think you'll have any problems with the interview if you just relax and carry on a normal conversation with the professor and student interviewer. The writing portion is quite simple as you are asked to summarize a short article. Good luck

I agree!
It also helps to ask some well thought out questions that demonstrate your sincere interest in the school and the interviewers.
(i.e. What university they (interviewers) attended and their research.)

When did you get the letter for the interview?

I dont know, maybe it's just me, but I don't think asking specific questions about the interviewers is really a good thing. To me it just looks like someone kissing ass, and I know this happens in job and other interviews to a certain extent, but in this situation it just looks too obvious.

Now if you said something like "I'm interested in doing research, what kind of research do you do, and what kind of opportuinities are there here for me in that area?" then that, IMO, is a very good question b/c it shows your interest, and gets the interviewer involved as well (and we all know how much people like to talk about their research).

I agree with you Trojan Anteater it does sound it bit obvious. In the past interviews i have usually asked them general questions such as do we have time in our first year to do research or volunteer work or do you recommend it at all in my first year.

Hey trojananteaters, I was wondering if you would recommend writing thank you emails to your interviewers? did you write one when you applied to usc?

Also, for anyone reading this, did you write one as well?
