Anyways, gotta get back to watching my x-files.

Dude this yr is incredibly rough.. I mean it is nothing compared to the hours I put in the library.. It kind of reminds me of what a friend of mine from B school told me..

A little background.. So I was talking to him when I was studying my butt off for 2nd yr and the boards.. I call him up when he was in B school to talk. I was like yeah man it is real rough etc.. He tells me.. Yeah, I thought b school would be easy but man partying 5 days a week is tough.. He was being dead serious.. Yeah 4th yr is like that! :)

I used this tactic a few times on the trail. When I was in St Louis I was staying the night after my interview @ a friends.. She worked until 5 and we were done at like 3.. I went to Best Buy and played the 360!

yeah, but the only bad thing is you can only play with patriots or eagles. I'd much rather play with 'real' nfl teams....hahah i really dont' like either of them. heck give me the arizona cardinals at least they have larry fitz.

But who is gonna throw to Fitz.. You know what irks me.. is how they make Ron Mexico aka Vick so much better in the game than he is in real life.. he is a pretty junky QB.. He is avg at best.. I could list 10 QBs I would rather have.

i'll probably make the same investment, my ps2 is only being used as a dvd player right now. Yeah, I agree about Vick, one year he was sooooo fast, all I did was Shotgun (whatever play doesn't matter), and then just sprinted left or right and would always gain me a few yards, many times get me like 40 haha.

I got my 11th rejection today and I'm fairly certain I'll be reapplying again next year. I've got two schools left to hear from but with no interviews i'm realistic enough to know it's over for this year.

Dont give up!! you're still only 24, I know it may seem like you're getting older, but I think average entering age at my school was like 23/24, and there were many 28 and over. Nobody wants to wait a year when they are ready, but find out what might be holding up your application by email the admissions director and it will probably help you getting in.

Long story short - rejected 5 times, finally went to Caribbean, scrambled into EM, and I'm STILL getting the best job I've ever had - bar none.

The race is often to the swiftest, but not always - sometimes it is to that person that keeps running.

And there have been innumerable ways of saying it, but I will quote MG Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson, CSA - "You may be whatever you resolve to be!"

Wanna see something funny. Go to that imdb link you posted and look at Rosalita (the spanish maid's) career. She has acted more in more successful projects then everyone else in it except maybe Sean (Rudy Samwise) Astin.

So I have had numerous inquiries about my situation and why I "had" to apply to so many programs. As promised this probably wont be all that exciting. I explained this to CS_22 in a PM and I am thankful for him not saying anything.

So the reason was my wife was looking for a tenure track law professor position. These are extremely hard to come by, about 300 entry spots with 1200 applicants. Well needless to say things turned out well for us. She had a few offers and in the end she decided to accept a spot at the U of Arizona. As many of you know thats also where I matched. So there it is! I spilled..

But I don't get it - since your wife got a spot, she's obviously excellent, but it, just like derm (with the 4 applicants for every 1 spot, more or less), is unlikely she had offers from 9 or 10 programs, and so, when did she know or accept her spot, and what would have happened if you matched even anywhere else (in that, in the southwest, there's no short distance between anywhere except for where you are)?

AHEM! I banned myself :). But my future colleagues helped me enforce the ban! I stopped by every so often (during long studying days I get up every 90 mins or so and take a short walk outside, and I'd stop by the computer on my way back to whine or say hi). Now that I have finished my finals, I am "permitted to return."

She actually had 4 offers but cut her search short so I wouldnt have to interview at 30 programs. Instead we decided to focus and hope for the best. She accepted her spot in January so I could focus better. We decided that if U of Az didnt work out we would suck it up for 3 yrs. We have lived apart before. We are just lucky that things worked out. Needless to say match day was a happy day.
