Ha, we watched the movie Waiting this weekend, which is set in Shenanigans, and sure enough there is goofy **** on the walls!

When I was six, my cousin asked me how to spell that word. I was small, but I knew it had weird spelling. So I started with a "P" and got stuck. My cousin started jeering at me. "Don't you know! It's spelled S-I-K-E!"

I believe it's sic, from Latin. I could be wrong though. It's been 15 years since I studied Latin.

I always thought the eighties-era "psych-out" or simply "PSYCH!" was from that root.

Oh, that was my favorite thing to use in papers in college. According to my dictionary, it means, "Can you believe this idiot actually said this? I'm not that stupid - I'm just showing you what he said, that dumb idiot." I also liked really long quotes, so you could write it as an indented paragraph. Pictures/graphs too. They rock.
