does anybody have an insight concerning these programs regarding diversity of research experience/how happy residents are/work hours/work environment/attending-resident relationship/maligancy.

Basically, if given the choice...where would you go and why.

So unfortunately I don't think you're going to be able to differentiate these programs on the criteria you described. They're both excellent programs that will get you where you want. I don't think either are malignant at all, though certainly more rigorous than some other programs.

The only differing points I saw were: 1) Hopkins has a stronger emphasis on teaching and a friendlier call schedule (just barely). 2) Location -- Boston is a nicer but much more expensive and colder city. That said, I'm not viewing residency as a way to make bank and I imagine I'll make enough to buy a jacket, so I'd lean towards Beantown. Of course, if you are married then Baltimore would be a better place to buy a house and live a more adult life.

Anyway, hope this helps (or even better, your rank list is finalized and you didn't even need this).
