I have read the guidebooks for internship selection and the appic page on c/house, but I was wondering if anybody has first-hand experience with clearinghouse. I guess I am worried that if I have to go through it, it will be so fazing that by the time I get my bearings, it will be over.

I helped out with this a couple of times. There are often good programs in the clearinghouse. I think they give you a weekend to get your bearings. They publish a list of spots in the clearinghouse. Print it off and check all the ones that are APA approved. Find the big name programs your interested in and contact them first. Get together generic electronic versions of your personal statements, APPIC forms, and VITAS. Prepare a template email to send out. Etc . . . .

Thanks, that was really good advice -- particularly the part about the template e-mail...

Thanks again!
