I need help deciding between 2 Psy.D. programs in Chicago (I am not looking for a phd vs. psyd debate, I have already chosen to go the psyd route). Is anyone familiar with these programs:
Chicago School of Professional Psychology
Adler School of Professional Psychology
Both are equal in price, etc. I am looking for any advice to help make this decision. I also recently applied to PGSP-Stanford but probably won't hear from them for a few weeks.
Any advice, thoughts?

I think that Chicago is probably better than adler. I'm only basing that on the fact that I think adler teaches adlerian psychology primarily? Maybe I'm wrong. You should check into that .

You would be wrong.
Degree mill comes to mind for both. If you've made up your mind on the PsyD, I would consider Baylor or Rutgers.

I would go with Chicago School. I went to their interview and was I was blown away by their program. First impression was really important though. Apparently they just moved into their current site 2 years ago. It's in the heart of chicago and the building itself was really really nice, with marbled floor and stuff, almost like an office workplace. The program itself is also extremely competitive too. They have excellent praticum/internship placement and there is a variety of courses to choose from. Their approach is generalist but you can specialize in your 3rd year.
I had an interview with PGSP about a month ago and it's also a strong program. It draws on a lot of Stanford resources. Rumor has it that once it's accredited, it will be one of the toughest PsyD programs to get in in the country.

Thanks for the advice.
I was also very impressed with the Chicago School when I interviewed there. I know students who are currently there and they seemed to be very well-trained practioners, compared to students from other clinical programs in Chicago. The thing is that I don't know anyone from the Adler school so it has been hard for me to comapre the two schools.
As far as other Psy.D. programs are concerned, location is a big factor for me. I live in Chicago and would like to stay here, so this is why I didn't even consider Baylor or Rutgers. PGSP-Stanford was the only out of state program I applied to (mainly because I have heard great things).
So at this point I am leaning towards the Chicago School- it seems that the program has the best psy.d. reputation in the Chicagoland area and the program itself really seems excellent. I am just trying to gather as much information and opinions as possible because this is such an important decision.

I think that the Chicago School has a better reputation than Adler. I don't have much to base this on other than the feel I got while living/studying in Chicago, FWIW.
