Does anyone know how competitive the prelim IM prgrams in NYC are (NYU in particular)? I would like to eventually go into derm, but don't think I have the stats to match next year. I am considering doing a prelim year then applying for derm after that. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sometimes a year doing derm research could help too! Especially if you get to know a program director fairly well during the research!
