Peds, but it doesn't have to be med related.

A nice vacation might be good right before starting intern year.

I agree, and hope we can do that, but I also want to give her something tangible to mark the occasion.

Tiffany's used to make a silver ink pen with a caduesus on it that you can have engraved with his/her name. Best part, its only like $90.

I really like the medical insignia pins that go on the white coat collar:

if the SO is a she....something from tiffany's is the right choice (in my personal opinion). that's what my family tends to do.

but it doesn't have to be the pen. there are various things there at a multitude of different price levels.

small earrings (ok for hospital wear) or a simple necklace would be nice. rings/bracelets get in the way with all the handwashing, but simple earrings or a necklace would be sweet.

and (as much as i hate to admit this in public) getting a present in that little blue box is special! i've gotten several simple pieces of jewelry to mark special occasions and they mean an aweful lot.

but whatever you decide, i'm sure it'll be well received.

Never thought of that. Thanks for the links. Something to consider.

I have been thinking of some nice jewelry, not necessarily Tiffany's, given her style. The caduceus pen from Tiff's is a good thought.

Part of the reason I asked what others had in mind was to gauge price range. It's not the best time to be spending $, but it's a special occasion and I love her.

Thanks.
