Hi all

I belief schools start around last week of august and labor weekend is right the week after school starts. I have a wedding september 2nd and was going to travel august 31 meaning missing classes friday sept 1st. is it a good thing to do? will i be missing alot ?

please advice?

I'm in the same situation!!! I have to fly to Chicago Labor Day weekend to be in a wedding. But, I'm told that we have that Monday off as students as well!!

Our first week of class was really easy as far as the load goes, but they did give us a lot of information about school and how things work that week. I think as long as you have someone you trust to tell you what you missed that you should be ok.

The first week is a joke. The first day all we did was go over syllabi. Most of the material was plain review. At UIC, the first semester, in general, is considered the easiest semester. However, I would still contact the school, and ask what their policy towards missed classes are.
