I took the MCAT twice. My premed adviser told me that the schools look at the highest score you get in each section, so a 10,10,9 and a 9,9,10 would be 30, for example. Can anybody verify this?

I think your advisor needs to lay off the drugs. physicsnerd42 04-05-2006, 03:22 PM I took the MCAT twice. Every school has different policies. OHSU, for instance, will ONLY use your most recent scores. So, if you get a 9, 10, 9 and then a 7, 7, 7 they look at you as if you have a 21 instead of a 28. Some other schools average scores and maybe some take the higher of each section. Don't take the MCAT unless you're absolutely ready. You don't want to take it more than once. gujuDoc 04-05-2006, 05:23 PM I think your advisor needs to lay off the drugs. What they said above ^^^. The only schools that I know that does that is Tufts and maybe one other school who's name I cannot remember right now. They look at the most recent score. They look at the most recent score. Which med schools take the average, the best of both MCAT results, and the most recent score? Is there a database where this information can be found or do we simply have to call them? Thanx. |
