Thanks :D :D :D MasonPrehealth 04-12-2006, 08:33 AM One book I have on my desk is the first edition of The Craft of Research (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0125893760/sr=8-1/qid=1144852139/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-9403544-3440705?%5Fencoding=UTF8). I also would never stray too far from Strunk and White. OctoDoc 04-14-2006, 01:39 AM Another is The ACS Style Guide A Manual for Authors and Editors Second Edition Janet S. Dodd $34.50 May 1997 ISBN13: 9780841234628 ISBN10: 0841234620 The definitive reference for all chemists writing for publication, but good reference for general scholarly science writing. Also, read journals that have high quality writing. Cell, Nature, ect are generally top notch in writing style (as well as the science impact of course). Clinically, New England Journal has great writing. I'm leaving out a ton, but that's a start. Lastly, my PI at Memorial Sloan-Kettering gave me a copy of "How to Write and Publish a Scientific Paper" by Robert A. Day. Great book with funny anecdotes. |
