I am wondering about my IM chances at good programs (not necessarily MGH or UCSF; maybe Stanford, UWash, NYPCornell, U of Chicago) Here are my stats:

Pre-clinical honors: Many
Step 1: 99/ mid 240s
Third year: High passes (no Ps, but no honors as of yet; IM pending), great comments (probably no one cares)

I'm pretty P*SSED off about third year so far especially getting hosed by evaluators who say I'm a great student, but evaluations don't reflect that. I wonder if anybody else has had such "dings" on their application, but matched well this year (top 20-30 programs). Any suggestions?

How well is the reputation of your school? How's your research and rec letters?

Just from what you wrote, I'd say you can have a good chance at the second tier programs in terms of those things alone, and possibly a shot at some of the top tier programs. The reputation of your school, research, and letters can help tip your application higher. If you can do an early sub-I and honor it , get a great step II score, those would help as well.
