Half of my high school is one there. It amazes me that so many of them know how to use a computer. It is kind of like a train wreck but its fun. The fetus hasnt gotten his own site up yet but it will happen soon.

I think about 1/8 of my high school graduating class is on there...it's great comedy. I was sort of an outcast in high school and I guess it brings out my mean streak to see all of their "accomplishments." :meanie:

I wasnt an outcast by any means, I still see a good bit of people from HS when I head down to miami but there are people who thought so much of themselves in HS and now dont have much to show for all their "confidence". Its just great comedy also to see how some people never grew up having pics of them smoking weed, doing drugs etc. Just something for a good old fashioned laugh.

I guess outcast was the wrong word. I sort of got an "Ice Princess" reputation - no smoking, no drinking, no drugs, no boys (no time! gymnastics kept me busy!).

Being an Evil Overlord seems to be a good career choice. It pays well, there are all sorts of perks and you can set your own hours. However every Evil Overlord I've read about in books or seen in movies invariably gets overthrown and destroyed in the end. I've noticed that no matter whether they are barbarian lords, deranged wizards, mad scientists or alien invaders, they always seem to make the same basic mistakes every single time. With that in mind, allow me to present...

If I Ever Became An Evil Overlord

1. My Legions of Terror will have helmets with clear plexiglass visors, not face-concealing ones.

2. My ventilation ducts will be too small to crawl through.

3. My noble half-brother whose throne I usurped will be killed, not kept anonymously imprisoned in a forgotten cell of my dungeon.

4. Shooting is not too good for my enemies.

5. The artifact which is the source of my power will not be kept on the Mountain of Despair beyond the River of Fire guarded by the Dragons of Eternity. It will be in my safe-deposit box. The same applies to the object which is my one weakness.

6. I will not gloat over my enemies' predicament before killing them.

23. I will keep a special cache of low-tech weapons and train my troops in their use. That way -- even if the heroes manage to neutralize my power generator and/or render the standard-issue energy weapons useless -- my troops will not be overrun by a handful of savages armed with spears and rocks.

24. I will maintain a realistic assessment of my strengths and weaknesses. Even though this takes some of the fun out of the job, at least I will never utter the line "No, this cannot be! I AM INVINCIBLE!!!" (After that, death is usually instantaneous.)

25. No matter how well it would perform, I will never construct any sort of machinery which is completely indestructible except for one small and virtually inaccessible vulnerable spot.

MySpace is awful. It can induce seizures with all of the ads, flashing lights, and music playing in the foreground. Facebook is a much better way to use your time.

I have been resisting the call of myspace for a few reasons:

1- I don't like to molest 14 yo girls
2- The only people I know that are on myspace are guys and I would look like a tool having 40 guy friends and no girl friends.
3- My fiancee would leave me because she would think #1
4- I don't have some super cool unknown emo band music to put on my homepage
5- I am not looking to have random conversations with fat chicks that have skinny pictures on the internet.
6- I haven't mastered the art of finding a picture of myself that looks casual but really is discretely sexy
7- There is a good reason I haven't kept in touch with some of the people that I knew in highschool

Ok it got me too. It was not without a fight but now I am hooked. Here was the progression. FIRST I thought you were all silly folks and agreed with MudPhud but after checking out a band's page on myspace I learned if I made a page I could save a list of favorite band's pages very easy. SECOND. My girlfriend found out I had done this and informed me her college friends had made her make a page a few months earlier. She showed me her page and how to play with the editors and add video and now after several hours of tinkering I have a truly seizure enducing page with some great music and videos. Still a work in progress for sure but what is bothering me is I only have 1 friend. This makes me sad and the only people I know who use myspace are you find SDNers who posted here.
