How much do you want to bet that after signing out AMA, this guy shows up in someone's ER with a repeat suicide attempt? Maybe he'll be our next crossbow special!
Or maybe he'll finally get the job done and use a real gun.
Awesome.

Wasn't this episode on Grey's Anatomy?
Let the med student have at him if he shows up again. :D

Do you still call it lucky if you fail in a suicide attempt? Isn't that unlucky?

A note: as we were reminded in my primary care class, never call something a "SUCCESSFUL" suicide attempt.
Yeah, that might not look so good on the chart...

Success: (noun) the accomplishment of an aim or purpose
It's called a suicide attempt because suicide is the goal or intended outcome. If that goal is achieved, then it was successful. Using some euphymism is PC bullcrap. And it's judgmental. Why should we infuse our charting with value judgments? They tried for X, they got X, they succeeded. What's wrong with calling a spade a spade?
