I work with a newish company that provides electronic anesthesia medical records. My questions are in regards to the stick figures that the sma-7 and cbc are recorded upon in a written record. The CBC appears to be an "X" and the sma-7 a variation thereof. What are the official names of these "stick figures"? Which values go where on the cbc "X"? I have them going clockwise from the left space; WBC, HCT, PLT, HGB. Is this correct?

Convention usually has them in your ordering scheme: WBC, HGB, PLT, Hct (Hct a the bottom)

I don't think they have an official name. Just an easy way to convey information without having to write out what each one stands for.

Man, I spaced it all out and it didnt post like I wrote it.

Take the WBC & Plt and spread them away fom each other to visualize the CBC stick.

Take the glucose and move it to the far right of the other labs to visualize the chemistry stick.

Thank you very much. We have a lab interface but no one has noticed that the hgb and hct were inverted, until HUP's residents. Travis

The designer of the system states it is not a set order of whether the HGB or HCT is on the top or bottom of the "X". Is there documentation available I could present to make it easier for the programmers to want to change it? Travis
