I'm trying to formulate my plan for step 1 prep. I didn't do very well in path and i scored less than 50%tile on the shelf exam. I need to make sure this doensn't happen again so i'm trying to devise a plan that would be the most high yield in terms of not only helping me review but also filling in some gaps for stuff i initial didn't study.

Please tell me what you think of this idea. I want to take 5 days and pretend i've enrolled myself in dr. goljan's course. Each day, i'll listen to his audio and follow along with his rapid review of path book just as if i was there and he was lecturing me.

Do you think this would be a good utilization of my study time? I will have five weeks to study for the USMLE in total.

If anyone has other suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.

hey,
I just made my schedule also (5 weeks), and our school academic advisor suggested spending a lot more than just 5 days on path because its a huge part of the exam. I was thinking about spending around 10 days, and spitting the material up accordingly, with a day or two in the middle for review/diagnostic tests. With 5 weeks, it works out nice. Good luck

what if i did the 5 days audio/rapid review and then did another five days of brs reading and qbank path questions?

can i ask what your schedule looks like?

my strong subjects = anatomy, neuroscience
my moderate subjects = physiology, pharm, microbio, human behavior, biochem
my weak subjects = path

any other suggestions on how to organize so my time is best utilized? thx.
in terms of days, i have ~35 days or so of study time.

I have about 35 days as well, here's how I'm breaking it down:

Days 1-2: Path intro (cell injury, inflammation, etc.)
Days 3-4: Anatomy, Embryo
Days 5-7: Biochem
Days 8-14: Path, Phys, Pharm (systems)
Days 15-16: Neuro
Days 17-18: Behavioral
Days 19-21: Micro
Day 22: Pharm
Days 23-27: Path, Phys, Pharm (systems again)
Day 28: NBME Exam
Day 29: Anatomy, Embryo again
Days 30-31: Biochem again
Day 32: Neuro again
Day 33: Micro again
Day 34: Pharm again
Day 35: NBME Exam

But, if you're strong in Anatomy and Neuro, I'd replace Days 16, 29, and 32 with more path.
