Do you at least get to take a few medical school courses? The Masters program is a general biology program not tailored for future med students, though you can take some medical school courses. The handbook states up to twelve credits may be taken in other NYU departments including Basic Medical Sciences, though you will need permission to do so. Lindyhopper 05-03-2006, 11:17 AM I don't know much about the NYU program. But I'm wondering about the value for the dollar. Generally a SMP is a better application enhancer, as well as more direct preparation for Med school success. If you are really interested in a masters in Bio, you might also check out CUNY Hunter. They offer a quality education, plenty of research opportunities, the possiblility of a TA ship, & an affordable price tag. Nothing against NYU / except the $$$$$$ . |
