I just want to know how many people here think it's worth spending the time on. I printed it out last night... it's a lot of material. It'll take a long time to "know it cold" as Goljan advises us to do.

View Full Version : Will you be memorizing Goljan 100 page HY? DrPak 05-01-2006, 09:31 PM I just want to know how many people here think it's worth spending the time on. I printed it out last night... it's a lot of material. It'll take a long time to "know it cold" as Goljan advises us to do. Idiopathic 05-01-2006, 09:51 PM I read it over twice the day before and once the morning of the test. I dont recall seeing anything on it that was on the test that I didnt already know...that said, it sure is a nice brain stimulator. delicatefade 05-01-2006, 09:52 PM No way - I might read them once if I have time, but considering the fact that I have 3 files of 100 HY pages each, I may just stick with the 36 page HY notes. DrPak 05-01-2006, 10:13 PM Actually, I don't think skimming over them once a couple of days before the exam is the most effective way to use these notes. It's A LOT of material and unless you've started memorizing it early on, you really won't be walking into the exam with the benefit of the Goljan 100 HY. Incidently, idiopathic and delicatefade, do you not use these notes because you think they're not worth the time? Or are you contrained by time? Incidently, idiopathic and delicatefade, do you not use these notes because you think they're not worth the time? Or are you contrained by time? I had all the time in the world. I think a thorough knowledge of all things path/pharm/physio is the most important. I would use the HY notes as a way to test yourself (i.e. read a topic and try to recall the definition) AFTER you have pounded everything else. I dont use those types of notes as learning tools, but rather as tests of recall. delicatefade 05-02-2006, 07:31 AM I agree - I use things like the HY notes and First Aid as tools to test recall, not as a place to start memorizing random facts. A comprehensive, individualized study plan is the best preparation in my opinion. DOctorJay 05-08-2006, 08:17 PM what's the difference between the 36HY, 44HY, and 100HY? Does 100HY cover it all? vtucci 05-13-2006, 05:06 PM As a soon to be second year, can someone tell me what the difference is (also asked by previous poster) and how to find them? |
