Hi friends,
Since i am a fresh graduate i was intrested in getting some clinical experience.
Because of my visa status i cannot work,so i approached some dentist if they can offer me "observership".
In response they told me that ,the laws for patient privacy have been made strict, and so they cannot help me.
First i thought its an excuse, but same thing happened again. :(
I am in the bayarea(Ca),and Ca schools give a lot of weight to the clinical exp.OR do u think i should go for part II instead of observership?
I was wondering if anyone else is also facing the same thing or...........
Any help or suggestions.

Hey... I had the same problem... fella..
but  u can approach.. dental hygiene schools.. they would be happy to help you...
I approached.. one in the same school wher I go...
and I think I can get there.. atleast for some experience.....
The schools are bascically look for your understanding of the US system.. insurance... so any clinical setting would be good.. :D

hi Dushyant,
Where in Bay area are you located ?? If you are in South BA, there are many Indian Dentists out here, whom you can approach, and sometimes they will let you as an Observer , try it out !! I knw the policies are strict , but dont go to them asking Observership, ask them if you can volunteer as a DA . Talk to them that way and see if it happens. I am in BA and I have worked as a DA , in 3 places by now ( ofcourse I do have te work permit , but I too had bitter experiences ) so just try . Good Luck . Not juz CA schools. most of te East coast schools also look into your Observer/DA experience here in US.
take care
nident.
