anyone knows of a book/method of learning an efficient way of taking standardized tests such as step 2. i keep getting average scores in my practice exams and i feel like the scores dont reflect my knowledge (not that i know everything... **** not even) i just want something that will teach me better skills to improve my score, there must be a trick to approach those questions.. thanks for the info in advance

Hmmm...I don't think there's a "trick," short of just hitting the books and doing lots of practice questions. Kaplan has a few tips on multiple choice questions, like figuring out the answer after reading the question but BEFORE looking at the answer choices - less chance of being distracted by the wrong answer that way. Check out their website (I think these tips are freely accessible).
I really think the key to these standardized tests (SAT, MCAT, USMLE, ABSITE, etc.) is just to study hard and do lots and lots of practice questions to get used to the feel of the question style, as well as build up your stamina.

do questions, questions, and more questions... all day long... it builds up the stamina.
And remember to take a pain killer some time in the middle of the exam, to prevent that annoying headache.
Good luck!
