Hey folks,

I'm not sure if in the U.S they give me Communication skills courses. In Lebanon, medical students are barely exposed to communication skills between physician and patient.

Personally I am interested in improving/developing new skills because I consider a successful doctor is one who knows how to communicate with his patient.

Is anyone familiar with some books/resources which would help me in this issue ?

Thanks in advance.

This is a commendable goal! I do not know of any written resources, but would recommend that you speak with those whom you admire in their ability to interact/relate with patients. Observe them in action, and learn from them. Also, as you work with patients, ask these same folks for feedback on ways to improve your interactions.

In my mind, you would probably learn more from hands-on experience, than from a book.
