All of you that are looking to buy a kaplan review book on ebay be very careful and ask all questions you have about the book to the seller. Unfortunaly, I was bidding on an auction where the described item was a 2005 ,brand new ,Kaplan review book. I won the auction at 305 plus overnight shipping as was requested for me , and the seller ripped me off. I just not only received the item ( photocopies in a plastic folder) 3 days latter but also where just an incomplete bunch of copies of the book. I have already dispute, hopefully I can recover my money ( +300.00) . I just want you'll be very careful with this type of sellers on ebay.

Wow ... are they able to hack into your payment (pay pal) account too ? I mean, are they just ruining your eBay account/feedback, or are they making you pay for it too ?
Very strange ... I honestly will think of closing mine too since last time I used it was 2004 anyways ... very weird.

fido!

Sometimes you get an email asking you to confirm ur password from ebay and paypal...
but if you look at the url it wont be the regular link,
myt have prefixes as in geocities etc....
if in case u end up clicking you reach a page which looks just like the home page of either places but asking you to enter the usename and password...
if you do that.. they get ur access

Its been happening for longtime now.

Hope all of you are aware of these

well someone had bought stuff for $110 from my account.and as u said I had not checked ebay for the longest time and one fine day I see the paypal stuff on my credit card.I totally freaked out.and shot an email to ebay people.and they suggested me to close my account.and the didi reimburse my money.thank god.
ad muscle mansaid.if u ever get any email for ebay or for that matter anywhere else.never click on it.cos once u click it it would say ebay or something but take u somewhere else.and a click is more tahn eniugh for them to know everything about u.rather.open another window and paste the same url to see what it is.BEWARE everyone.this is become really common now.

It's a common practice indeed done by scammers to trick you into giving away your user name & password, it's called phishing, just like when you go fishing and wait for a fish to catch your bait, they blast these emails to thousands and thousands of email addresses they buy in bulk, and wait until somebody somewhere clicks and fills in his information thinking he is at his bank's web site (or paypal, etc), that's when they capture your information and steal the money

rather.open another window and paste the same url to see what it is

Actually online security experts say it's not a good idea to open any url you find in such emails, even by copy & paste, this may still jeopardize your identity, instead, if you are concerned, just type in the web address of the web site the way you know it (e.g., www.wachovia.com , etc) and log in to your account from there, this way you know for sure that you are at the right page.

As for the email itself, either delete it or even better, report it to one of the special groups or associations that fight online fraud like APWG (http://www.antiphishing.org/report_phishing.html)
