Since everyone else is starting class threads, I figure I should start one for us. Is there anyone out there- I need help! I know nothing about the area and want to start looking for apartments. Anyone interested in roommates or have any suggestions where to look?
Also, and this is not just for Tennessee people, I apparently have to take Cell Biology over the summer and have no idea where to take it. Are there any online cell biology courses? I cant find a summer cell bio course anywhere. ANY SUGGESTIONS :)

This is a starting point. I think you need to address this issue now as these courses take time and I'm sure you have been given a deadline for completion and transcripts received.
Good luck

I'd be glad to help, bagger. I used to live in Knoxville.

Out of curiosity..how did you manage to take micro w/o the cell? I'm guessing you weren't a bio major...
EDIT: nvm...I know there are micro courses for non-majors (nursing)...I just wasn't thinking about it that second...

There are sciences other than biology you know :).
I was a chemistry major with a minor in biology. I took the same microbiology class as all the biology majors, but no cell biology for me.
I suspect this could be the case for many people who were non-biology/non-science majors, but who were still considering a career in the veterinary field or in human medicine.

I realize...
Everywhere is different, but where I am there is a 3 credit 200- something level micro for nursing, PT, etc people, and a 600- 5 credit version for bio majors...I did know some people who took the lower level for the vet pre-reqs b/c its easier (these people were bio majors). Cell is required for just about all upper level bios except maybe the ecology-type courses....
lol...I just checked my AAVMC book...cell isn't a requirement for a lot of schools...I guess I just assumed it was. I don't totally understand why everyone wants genetics (especially genetics rather than cell).

At my undergrad school micro was a pre-req for cell. I took cell as an elective, none of the schools I applied to required it and I didn't need it to graduate. I think it was the hardest undergrad course I took! but that might have something to do with the professor...

i actually did take two semester of micro and never had to take cell biology and was a biology/veterinary tech major. looking back i think i may have schemed my way out of it. But anyway, does anyone else have suggestions at anywhere i can take a course- i know there were alot of people at the interviews who had not taken this course, so im just wondering what they are doing?
