Massachusetts has recently passed a law creating an "individual mandate" to purchase health insurance. Meanwhile, a rep from Arizona in congress is trying to pass a bill to create a national market for health insurance (currently, states can dictate what must be covered in health insurance policies).

I think the MA approach is rife with problems, and the AZ plan is the best shot at something that will work.
