Anyone here taken Genetics at UT El Paso? I am taking the online version now. What did you think? Do you feel prepared for dealing with genetics in pharm school?

Anyone here taken Genetics at UT El Paso? I am taking the online version now. What did you think? Do you feel prepared for dealing with genetics in pharm school?


I got my BS in microbiology from UT El Paso. I didn't take genetics online, however, I took Prof. Goldstein's genetics class. I thought it was pretty easy, but I had already had a few genetics classes at Texas A & M (my first semester of college I was a genetics major at A&M, then I moved back home to El Paso). I'm not using much genetics now in pharm school...anything I've needed to know now I could've easily learned without having a previous genetics class.

Thanks for the info. At this point I am not really sure if I am learning enough of the material. It seems a little too easy (the online is the same as the in class); I don't want to get killed when I get to Pharm school. Thanks again!

Don't worry Rach, just take it easy with the genetics class. All the genetics if any that you will need to know for pharm will not be complicated at all. You will relearn everything that you will need to know. So take it easy and enjoy your summer and don't stress out about the class!!! :cool:

Thanks for the good news. Right now I'm pretty down because I have a test due Wednesday and I don't understand a bunch of the cross problems :( . I wish I lived near somewhere where I could find a tutor or something. I want to do well :scared: .
