Incoming First Years (pgy-2s)...
Congratulations on entering your first year of residency in ophthalmology, ocular and orbital surgery. Its too late to turn back now!
Just remember, it is considered a sign of weakness if you have to call your upper level resident in. You will never get to to do any surgery if you are considered weak. If you have a question, just figure it out. Never, NEVER call your upper-level. Enjoy! :meanie:
Remember- transfers from outside hospitals, referals from community ophthalmologists who don't want to follow patients over the weekend, etc. aren't dumps, but "valuable learning opportunities". :)
P.S. I am very happy to pass on that 1st on-call pager ;) .
