I recently took my GRE and while I am happy with the overall score, my verbal was only a 550. I have heard of some schools, namely Colorado and Minnesota (though I am not looking at either school) require at least a 600 verbal score to be considered. Have any of you heard this and if so do you know of any other schools that have cutoffs which would eliminate me? I just want to make sure I am in play at the schools I am interested in and I don't waste my money when my application is destined for the trash can. Thanks!

Minnesota actually has a cutoff of 625 on boht V & Q. Just a fun fact for those of you who are interested.

I think a book - it might be the Insiders' Guide - publishes information about if there are cutoffs for each school, so you could check that. Also, sometimes schools will mention a cutoff on their webpage somewhere, so just hunt around the schools you are applying to in order to see if they mention some explicit information about this. I suppose you could also contact someone at those schools to ask; maybe an administrative assistant or the director of clinical studies or something like that if you are really keen to know.
