Hey guys

When's the latest to write the USMLE STEP 1? I haven't written mine yet and would like to apply for the coming round of Ophtho. But I have only started to study a week ago so I would like to write eg. at late August at the earliest.

Not sure how realistic it is for me to expect a high 90's score at this point.

I was going to submit my application before writing my Step 1, and have the results pending.

I'm in a different situation because I'm in my PGY-1 year.

it takes between around 4 weeks (up to 6) to get your score report. i wouldn't know for sure but i would assume that it would be very difficult to receive any interviews without a step 1 score.
