What is the net ionic equation for the reaction between FeS and HCl?
A. FeS(s) + 2H+(aq) à H2S(g) + Fe2+(aq)
B. FeS(s) + 2H+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) à H2S(g) + FeCl2(s)
C. FeS(s) + 2H+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) à H2(g) + S(s) + FeCl2(s)
D. Fe2+(aq) + S2-(aq) + 2H+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) à H2S(g) + FeCl2(s)
E. S2-(aq) + 2H+(aq) à H2S(g)
why A is answer?

why A is answer?[/QUOTE]
I may possibly be wrong but I think it is because CL- is a spectator ion and doesnt do anything important so it does not go into the ionic equation. I wish I could explain this better but im still relearning all this stuff as well.

yep your right, in the net ionic equation you dont include spectator ions

E. S2-(aq) + 2H+(aq) à H2S(g)
why A is answer?
Cl2 is spectator and FeS and H2S are insoluble.
i think that's right. if not then sorry
