I finally took my DAT today and its over for ever. I'm happy with my scores, although I thought they should be higher before I see the results.
here they are:

PAT : 20
RC: 20
QR: 20 :scared:
Bio 22
Ochem 25
Gchem 21 :scared:
TS: 22
AA: 22

...

Nice scores! Congrats (Tabrik). :) :)

I finished the science 35 min early and had time to review everything. Gchem was my strongest subject I dont know how I ended up 21, everything straight forward, no pv=nrt questions though. I was sure on every single questions, oh well. Ochem only 2 reactions the rest was conceptual which was odd !! most of my bio question were which one is the FIRST, Initial step of ...
QR the same as GChem I though I got every single right I dont know what happened, probably careless errors. 2 easy probability questions and lots of word problems which I hate.

PAT as everyone else says angles are the hardest, the rest was ok, I'm happy with that score. I thing topscore is good enough for PAT, Achiever is way harder than actual thing and very frustrating.

And there comes the score that I'm proud of  RC  I wasnt able to get anything more than 17 on my practice exams and was praying to not go below that on the real thing, then I saw the 20 and was shocked. happy happy !!!

As far as the material that I used, kaplan for ochem, gchem, and for bio I used kaplan and examcracker, Schaum, campbell anything I could find. I spent 4/5 of my time studying bio since I have taken only one bio class and had to start from 0. So you bio majors shouldnt have a problem.

Thanks to SDN and their active members, (although seeing everybody's high scores wasnt that pleasent :p got me all nervous ). best of luck to everyone,

I'm so free , yesss :meanie:

hey can i ask you how long u studied for? and how many hours/day?
great job.

What were your scores on Topscore and DAT Acheiver?

Here is my topscore and achieve scores. I never cared about the scores I was getting, just using them as study tools, but here they are anyways.

Bio/Chem/Ochem/ PAT/ RC
topscore 1: 26/18/18/ 17/ 16
topsocre 2: 19/21/19/ 18/17
topscore 3: 18/20/21/17/17

Achiever 1: 15/17/16/15/ 17
Achiever 2: 17/17/17/17/17
Achiever 3: 16/18/17/17/16

I dont have the score for QR because I'm good at math and never thought I would need practicing.
I would say the actual test is much more closer to topscore than Achiever. I bought the Achiever last week before the exam and I think it wouldnt make any difference if I hadnt used it. :)

I started studying May 10th, right after my finals. I studied at least 8 hrs a day for the first month, and then reduced it to 4hrs bc I was done just scared to take the test. Then the last week I increased it to 8hrs to review everything that I had studied. And I could say I spend only 3 days on gchem, a week on ochem, the rest just bio, because the more you read, the more stuff you figure you dont know. For bio I made flashcards from everything I read and kept reviewing them, had about 1000 of them.

let me think, I had many questions like what is the FIRST Protostomes among the following? flat worms, round worms, earth worms .... at least half of my bio section were questions like this, about 4 genetics, 4 taxomony, 5 to 6 photosynthesis and respiration, ... I dont remember any questions being from topscore or achiever as many people say. I guess they are just lucky.

Messenger, by the way I got the question about the Initial step of speciation which I wasnt sure what the answere was, guess one of the question that I missed. I think bio was so random, I couldnt recall where I had read the material for each question.

mahgol, thank you for the tips! and congrats. did the protostomes questions actually ask which evolved first, or just pick the protostome oout of the choices given? and, weird
i am still having trouble finding the intial step of speciation. i have been reading campbells for a while and cnat find somehting similar. do you rememebr answers chioces? there are many dofferent kinds of speciation, i am confused! thank you! good job. anyone have any thoughts on this. :)

I believe the initial step of speciation is reproductive isolation
