Im solving kaplan QR test 5 and come across this question:

The volume of a cone is 1/3 of the area of its circular
base times its height. Approximately what is the
volume of a cone with a height of 2 8/11 feet and a
base of diameter 7 feet? (π = 22/7)
A. 32 2/3 cu. ft.
B. 35 cu. ft.
C. 105 cu. ft.
D. 140 cu. ft.
E. 420 cu. ft.

.. as you can see the formula for the volume of a cone is given in the question..
are we given formulas in this manner on the actual DAT? I have been trying to memorize these geometry formulas... should i not do so??

I memorized them. I've worked several practice tests where the formulas were NOT given and I had to recall them from memory.

how about facts like:
1 cm= 2/5 inch

(that was also in a kaplan problem.)
can anyone confirm that they were given data such as the afore mentioned conversion factor on their actual DAT?

2 more weeks of this hell...
cant wait to get it over but still have work todo.. Topscore test 1 tomorrow!
gnite all! :luck: :luck:
