Hey,

I am looking for some good Im programs where the residents are happy...and go onto fellowship. Looking for Boston, NY, Chicago, and maybe some in Cali. Also, looking for DO friendly programs.

Thanks. Any advice you have is much appreciated!!

Tufts -NEMC, Baystate in MA, St Rooselvolt in NYC, Brown are quite friendly to D.O, some hospitals in Detroit like sinai-Grace, detroit receiving hosp are pretty much D.O friendly. Some good community hosp some times are not bad if they have their own fellowship programs. That might need more search and calls. just call up and look for the data about their recent fellowship placement.

My wife just started an IM residency at Rush, in Chicago, which is where she went to medical school. She's been enjoying it more than expected so far, and it was her number one choice based on her own conversations with IM residents there and their happiness with the program. I don't know what the overall numbers are like, but I did meet one DO from CCOM who just started with her out of about 8 or so new residents who attended their incoming housestaff picnic back in June.

So far as I know, it is a good program for going onto fellowships. I'll try to ask my wife about any actual numbers she might have though.

If you like the mid-west try here at University of Louisville. All the residents here seem to be happy (as are the med-peds residents) and many of them go on to great fellowships if they choose.

While talking about the good programs can someone also throw in average stepI scores at these places if known?
