I am contemplating on completing a degree in pharmacy from a foreign school. However, I would like to complete my residency here in the United States. Therefore, I was wondering whether anyone here in the forums have completed such a task? If so please post.
Thanks.
Firstly, you need to get a PharmD here in US. Many residency programs prefer candidates who have a PharmD. Many pharmacy schools offer a PharmD program for international students who hold a BS degree in Pharmacy from foreign countries. You don't have to go through pre-pharm and pharmacy years are reduced to 2.5 years.
Secondly, you must be eligible to sit for state board exams where your residency program located.
Don't try the VA because the VA requires a US citizenship.
