At a convention of dentists, 1000 dentists are from the west coast. one hundred dentists are women; 60 of the women are not from the west coast. How many male dentists are from the west coast?
A.250
B.800
C.900
D.960
E.940

answer says D, but shouldnt the answer be C? someone please explain.

100 women - 60 women are not from the west coast = 40 women are from the west coast

1000 dentists from the west coast - 40 women from the west coast = 960 men from the west coast
