I am filling out my list of IM programs on ERAS. After talking with my advisor, I've come up with about 15 programs to apply to. However, I am a bit confused about some of the ones in NYC. Please help!

When you say "Cornell" is that the NY Presbyterian program? Columbia as well?

What about ALbert Einstein? Is the "good" program the one at Beth Israel Med Center or is the one in the Bronx?

I'm assuming the NYU main one is the one called "NYU Downtwon Hospital" right?

What about Mount Sinai. There are 3 listed, all in NYC...
I assume it's the SOM program.

Thanks for clarification!

NY Pres has 2 programs, on FRIEDA anyway, one is listed as the Columbia Campus and the other as the Cornell Campus.

The Einstein "academic" program is Einstein-Montefiore. Einstein-Jacobi, BI, etc. are all affilliated programs.

The NYU-Bellevue program is the NYU SOM program, NOT the Downtown Hospital one.

MSSM is the SOM program, NOT Cabrini, North General or Elmhurst.

Yes, it's confusing.

I was trying to figure this out as well. There are 55 programs in the state of New York alone. I'd like to apply to a few programs (a select few) in NY, but having NEVER been there, I don't know where to start.

I wish there was a "search plus" on FREIDA where you could select criteria like:
Treats residents well
Not likely to get shot on the way to work
Friendly, not super-competitive environment
Residents impression of program (1-5)
No snobbery

Word of mouth is as good as it gets, I suppose.
