Currently writing my personal statement....and have heard different perspectives on this issue:

Did most applicants for IM state whether they planned on subspecialization in their personal statement? As a 4th year student, how confident can you be telling a PD that you want to do cardiology based on a 4 week elective exposure?

I plan on specializing in either one of two things, but I am not specifically saying I am, partly because I feel a good subspecialist is first and foremost a good generalist, and partly because I'm applying to internal medicine and not subspecialty X.

I didnt say. Just wrote why I want to do IM and what attracts me to IM.
