i have had trouble all along deciding between internal medicine and radiology. i have decided to apply for radiology, but there are still times that i think about doing internal medicine. if i do a prelim medicine year and decide that i want to do internal medicine, how does it work with switching into categorical? is it tough to do? would i have a lot of trouble? are there some places it would be much easier? would i enter internal medicine as a pgy2 or would i repeat intern year again? do i go through the match or find open slots somehow. i know i am pretty ignorant on this subject. any advice on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
