How does estrogen cause a more hypercoagulable state? I tired to look this up but, so far, have found no clear cut explanation. Can someone shed some light onto this or point me towards an article? Thanks!

Thanks! gioia 09-13-2006, 08:16 PM All I know is that E increases hepatic production of binding proteins, it upregulates plasminogen (incr plt adhesiveness), and upregulates factors 2,7,9,10 and AT3. HOW I don't know- it is a steroid and complexes to DNA which makes more RNA which makes more proteins which makes more of the above...:eek: |
