I will be starting Osteopathic school this August, and I'm interested in Neurosurgery or Ortho. I want to know if there are any neuro or Ortho residents(AOA or Allopathic) out there who can give me some insight on how they prepared through med school to gain a Neuro or ortho residency.

Do well in your classes, boards, and do ortho or neursurgery research during your summer off and during fourth year. You also might want to consider taking off a year to do research after your second year too, that will also help make your app more competetive. I do know that there are a few AOA (osteopathic) ortho and neursurgery residency positions out there.
