I apologize for how I handled the confusion - very unprofessional. In America, an ophthalmologist is a physician with an MD degree and subsequent opthalmology residency training, having passed and fulfilled licensing and board certification. I understand it works differently in other countries, such as India, perhaps?

There's no such thing as an MSc in ophthalmology in America.

If you're asking about India, maybe google it. I'm still not sure what it is you're asking.

there are a few ophtho programs in the US and several programs internationally which offer a masters degree specifically in ophthalmology (grad school). for example, univ of chicago offers this.

of course you can always do your masters degree in any grad school affiliated with a med school/ophtho program, and do your research/thesis in ophtho. presumably in that situation your degree would be MS in cell bio, molecular bio, biochem, pathology, or immunology, etc.

however, if you're looking for an actual degree called MS in ophthalmology, they're aren't many of these in the US, as far as i know.

If I were creating a exam for a MSc student in visual neuroscience, I would draw from websites such as: http://webvision.med.utah.edu/ It is thorough and contains contributions from some rather kickass basic scientists.

I agree with the above posters, that this thread is likely misplaced, since this forum is more for eye clinicians/surgeons ("ophthalmologists") rather than basic scientists ("vision neuroscientists"), which is what the OP was likely seeking.
