How important is it to get a master's as opposed to a certificate? I was looking into a couple of different schools in the midwest and most had master's programs but a few had certificate programs (Kettering Med. college in Ohio for one.) Does it make a difference when looking to get hired right out of P.A. school?

many states now require a minmum of a bachelors to practice and 1 state requires an m.s.
the primary reason to have an m.s. at this point is that all NP programs now grant an M.S. and like it or not they are often the competition for midlevel jobs. if you already have a bs or ms in another field, a cerificate is fine. the best certificate program in the country is medex in washington. best of luck.
