A few questions about the second look... when should it be done? Should I do it for my top program, top 3 or top 5? My interview at my #1 program (out of town, but driveable) is on Jan 18... can I just stay an extra day and ask to round with a floor team and then not have to come back for the second look? Thoughts appreciated, especially about when to do it and how many. Thanks!

It really depends on the programs. Some programs look at it as extra interest in the program, whereas some programs just say "it is an opportunity to get a better feel for the program before you rank us."

Regardless, I would go to probably my top 1-3 choices for a second look, as long as it is close by. If it is not, I think PDs know that med students can't afford to fly out for second looks even if they want to.
