I am wondering if anyone here will be doing residency in South CA? Also for those who already did, how competitive is it?

Chemist 01-07-2007, 08:42 AM Hi RX for life, What type of residency are you pursuing? Do USN students have a good chance of getting into a residency? Thanks Khuyen 01-11-2007, 01:20 AM My roommate is applying for residency in Loma Linda. She said it's pretty competitive. rxforlife2004 01-11-2007, 08:37 PM Yes, it's competitive. In fact, almost everything is competitive, even getting a parking spot at school, shopping,etc...:) wrek92 01-18-2007, 02:14 PM I was in Anaheim for ASHP Midyear last month and the really popular program on Monday of Residency Showcase was UC San Diego. First off, they have 12 PGY-1 openings but I imagine that the fact that they are in San Diego sells itself. The reps at the UC San Diego booth actually ran out of brochures/application kits. The downer is that they only pay like $35K a year and that probably won't go too far in San Diego. :( |
