Is anyone currently a resident at Tufts in IM?
If so, what do you think about the program, quality of teaching, hospital location etc.
I am applying for psychiatry there but am curious about the IM rotations and the ER. Is the IM department really malignant?
Do you have to rotate at many different hospitals in Boston or just NEMC?
Can you find nice, safe apartments within walking distance to the hospital and if so how much do you pay for rent?
Is Tufts your number 1 choice and if so why?
Thanks!!!

I'm a 2nd year resident and I love the IM program at Tufts. As an intern, you won't go to any other hospitals. As a 2nd or 3rd year resident, we spend a month at either Brockton Hospital or Lemeul Shattuck Hospital. Otherwise, 90% of our residency is at Tufts.
I do not know how Tufts obtained such a malignant reputation. Even when I was a med student at Tufts, I heard it was a malignant program. I didn't how benign the IM residency until I started my internship. People are really nice here. You won't ever feel alone. The residents go out of their way to protect the interns. When I was an intern, I felt protected. Now, as a resident, I do my best to support the interns.
Nice apartments near the hospital range between 1000 to 1200 dollars per month.
Teaching is top-notch at all levels. Morning report is pretty casual and you're free to ask questions and speak your mind. We also have noon conference every day.
I hoped I answer your questions. Feel free to ask more.
