does anyone know if there's any information online about how tufts IM does with regard to fellowship? i know it has been discussed in forums before, but i was wondering about more specifics.
also, of the people that have been there, do they give you a handout with each year's fellowships on interview day?
i've looked online myself but no gold. perhaps one of the very resourceful people on sdn can lend their 2 cents.
btw something more specific than this:

I'm a 2nd year Tufts IM resident. I'll try to answer your questions. For a small program, Tufts does a surprisingly good job at placing people in fellowships. Between 80 to 90% of residents go to fellowships. How difficult it is to land a fellowship position depends on the fellowship. If it's renal, you're going to be all set coming from Tufts, which has one the top renal departments in the country. Cardiology and gastroenterology will be difficult. You'll have to really work at research, getting published and so forth to land one of those fellowships. We definitely have many residents matching into Cards or GI every year. The other fellowships (Hem/Onc, Pulm/CCC, Endo, ID, etc.) will be easier to obtain because Tufts is a major academic health center.
By the way, I'm not applying for fellowship. I'm planning to work as a hospitalist.
